From the classroom

“The author assembly with Amelia Tait was a brilliant experience for our Year 7 pupils. It was energetic, fun, and highly interactive, capturing the children's attention from the very beginning. Amelia had a fantastic rapport with the pupils… they left feeling motivated to read more, develop their own writing, and explore their imaginations.”

Librarian at Chantry Academy

“I liked that Amelia told us all about what she was like when she was younger and that she has always enjoyed writing diaries. We got to be involved and done a lot of guessing and true or false.”

Pupil at Chantry Academy

“Amelia made a lasting impression on the children and really inspired them to read and write more for pleasure.”

Teacher at Knavesmire Primary School

“Thank you so much to Amelia for a wonderful talk. Our Year 7s really enjoyed it. They were intrigued by Amelia's story, and there were lots of interactive elements and opportunities to share ideas. She really connected with her audience.”

School visits

I love visiting both primary and secondary schools and delivering assemblies to young readers.

My assemblies are fast-paced and interactive, featuring discussions of my journalism work and my teenage diaries, as well as real extracts from teen diaries throughout history, and unexpected historical fun facts. Students are able to get involved via props and guessing games. There is also the opportunity for a Q&A and signing at the end.

I am also open to delivering workshops or smaller classroom events tailored to your needs. I can discuss: writing a diary; reading for pleasure; being an author; how people in the past really lived; and any of the eras or issues in the Lily Tripp books. (These include the Victorians, Romans, Jacobeans, and 20th Century life, as well as issues around conformity, friendship, bullies, beauty trends, and fitting in.)

To book a school or library visit, contact me amelia.tait2@gmail.com to find out more about my rates.
